Volunteers Make Drift Sisters Possible

In the Fall of 2019 Drift Sisters was created by four women with a goal to host events where female riders could come together from all over the country to share and improve their skills.  The first Drift Sisters Retreat took place in the Fall of 2020 at the LOGE Resort in Bend, Oregon.   The second retreat hosted at the same location took place in the summer of 2021 with twice the capacity of women as the first.  We are now ready to welcome others onto our team so Drift Sisters events can start happening world wide.

Jessica Ensslen - Executive Director

Jess has been planning and hosting women's outdoor education events for the last 10 years.  As a former SheJumps ambassador she was the first to bring backcountry splitboarding and surfing clinics to the west coast.  Jess loves to Onewheel and snowboard with her son, Jamie.  She is a Coast Guard veteran and has worked in Logistics Management for the last 20 years, with a degree in Digital Media Arts.  Jess is the owner of Drift Sisterhood Clothing and loves designing apparel for the women of Onewheeling.

Tamra Lane - Treasurer

An army veteran with a masters degree in accounting and financial management. Tamra has been onewheeling for over two years. After attending the first drift sisters event she went on to teaching onewheel lessons to kids and adults every where she went. She is a huge advocate of building women’s confidence with riding.

Racheal Cecil - Sponsorship and Scholarship Director

Racheal bought her first XR in 2018 and stepped onto the Onewheel scene at FloatLifeFest 2. She quickly made herself known to the community by winning the Women’s FLF 2 trick competition and getting second in the Women’s XR races. Since then, she has become a force within the sport, winning or at least placing on the podium in the last 8 events she has competed in. Her biggest goal is to continue to improve her riding technique and inspire as many women, young ladies, and people as possible. Coaching for Drift Sisters has been a dream come true, and she is excited to see the community of women riders continue to grow and progress.

Taylor Kelly - Marketing Director

Taylor loves the outdoors and spending time with her son, Colton. Riding Onewheel was the perfect way for them to explore together. Taylor has competed in several Onewheel races generally placing in the top 10, hosted local trail riding clinics in Vail, CO, about 30 miles east of her home. Taylor and her son frequently ride with the Denver/Rocky Mtn Onewheel MØB, and love the entire community they’ve found themselves immersed in. She has a bachelors degree in Graphic Art & Multimedia Design, and is the Marketing Manager at TOMIS.tech.

Sarah Lynch - Online Store Manager

Sarah has been in the graphic design industry more years than she cares to admit.  She has been  riding a Onewheel for over 3 years and started with an XR.  A regular among the Portland Oregon Friday night rides, she can often be found closing the ride in the wee hours of the morning.  When not riding she is out hiking and enjoying the Great PNW with her two dogs Baby & Rocket and husband.

Lauren Blanccoo - Social Media Manager

Lauren started riding onewheels with the Wheel Fun Stuff crew AJ Balanza and Kyle Hanson in 2019. She started as an extra pair of hands for filming and eventually became a regular on group rides, borrowing XRs until she became a steady pint rider. From pumptracks to trailheads and races in between, this San Diego native has proven the pint can rally!

Kari Fortin - Ambassador

The stoke started for Kari in 2019 when she stepped on her husband’s pint for the first time. A month later he surprised her with her own and her love of all things Onewheel escalated. You can find her leading local group rides, teaching others to ride, camping, reading and hanging out with her husband and three boys. After attending her first Drift Sisters retreat she was hooked and is looking forward to helping women gain confidence and watching the community of female riders grow through the Drift Sisters Organization.

Emily Powell - Ambassador

Emily never takes a day to float for granted! As a rare cancer survivor who didn't think she'd walk normal again, let alone OneWheel, she credits so much of her healing, both physically and mentally, to the love of OneWheel! She leads ladies rides in the Charlotte, NC area as one of our east coast DS Ambassadors. Her favorite places to ride are local trails and the beach.

MK Shamburger - Ambassador

MK has been riding onewheels since the summer of 2018. She has plenty of paved miles and has started getting into trail riding in the last year. She lives in Bentonville, AR so there are plenty of trails to go around! MK is on the Naz-T’s Float Shop onewheel racing team and they have group rides every week that she sharpens her skills on. She hasn’t raced yet but has been to Float Life Fest 4 and is itching to get out there. She also enjoys mountain biking, fishing, and hiking with her wife and 3 dogs. If you see her at an event, please say hi, as she has never met a stranger! MK is PUMPED to be a part of the Drift Sisters team!
